Multi award-winning Friction is one of the most relentless and respected DJ / producers in the world. Deemed by Pete Tong himself “one of the big dogs”, he entered the coveted D&B Hall of Fame at the 2011 D&B Arena Awards. Known for his masterful technical ability behind the decks, his eclecticism and faultless taste, Friction mesmerises crowds on four decks with unreleased cuts, Shogun & SGN:Ltd unheard gems, classics and VIP’s. He has made his name unmistakable to any bass music fan since his debuts in the early 2000’s, so whether you’re catching his radio show on BBC Radio 1 or a DJ set anywhere from Glastonbury to LA, to Sydney or even Tokyo, you can be sure you won’t be disappointed.

After releasing music on some of the genreʼs most legendary imprints such as Metalheadz and Hospital,in 2004 he founded his own label, Shogun Audio. With 10 years under its belt, it is a powerhouse in the world of bass music, complemented by its forward-thinking sister label, SGN:Ltd. Since then he has gone on to become the new face of Radio 1ʼs flagship D&B show, and continues to make his way through an ever-evolving musical landscape as well as curate world famous mix CD’s for the likes of Fabriclive and Ministry Of Sound.

His constantly evolving remix CV includes the likes of Wretch 32, Example, Feed Me & Jackbeats to name but a few. In 2012 his single ‘Led Astray’ reached #5 in the Shazam chart and spent 6 weeks on the Radio 1 playlist. His early 2013 release ‘Kingpin’, in collaboration with Skream, P Money, Scruffizer and Riko Dan received massive support from BBC Radio1 tastemakers Annie Mac, Mistajam, Danny Howard & Zane Lowe among others. And recent single ‘Long Gone Memory’ on his new label Elevate has also been smashing the airwaves and clubs across the world. All eyes are now on Friction’s long-awaited debut album currently in the making.
